Kate Phelan started working in the lighting department of independent features in the early '90s, earning credits on such movies as Kids, Nadja, I Shot Andy Warhol, Happiness, and The Substance of Fire. In 1999 she gaffed the Sundance Film Festival winner Girlfight directed by Karyn Kusama. Since then she has gaffed many features, including films for Jim McKay and John Sayles. Kate turned her attention fulltime to shooting in 2004. Short films that she has shot have competed at both the Sundance Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival. She has shot promos for AMC, VH1, tbs, Sundance Channel and CBS, as well as pilots for MTV & VH1. The original web series, HONESTY, directed by Brit McAdams for Comedy Central was nominated for an Emmy in 2007. The two teamed up again for GREAT MOMENTS IN HUMAN INTERACTION which premiered on Comedy Central's Atom this winter.
